SpaceX, the aerospace company founded by billionare and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has just released photos of their new space suit, which they plan for astronauts to use in flights to the International Space Station and beyond.

The SpaceX suit is a form - fitting white and black number that is fully functional, as Musk revealed in his social media post revealing the new suit. The suit has even been tested to withstand pressure loss while in space, however the suit isn't intended for space walks.

The release of this new space suit is part of SpaceX's competition with Boeing to develop a crew - worthy spacecraft, so that the winning corporation can be the first private company to send people into orbit.

Boeing has already released a spacesuit this past January; a bright blue suit designed with the help of Reebok. Boeing's new suit is lighter and more flexible than the old spacesuits that NASA astronauts have been wearing for 50 years.

Both the Boeing and SpaceX suits will be worn for the same mission; commercial flights to and from the Space Station. These suits would be worn during launch, reentry, and cases of depressurization in the space capsule.

According to Musk, more information about these space suits will be shared soon.
